Certified So: Redefining Happiness
The Curse
61
62
Did Jesus
Seem to say something,
That sounded so
Un-Christlike?
Because if fruit
Was truly out of season,Mark 11:13
Then why curse
The fig tree?
To understand,
We need to know a few
Fig tree facts
First.
Fact:
Fig trees
Bear two crops.
The breba crop,
Matures in early Spring
Before the leaves appear.
It is very small,
And inferior.
While the main crop,
Which are the true figs,
Ripens in the Fall.
Fact:
A fig tree,
With no breba crop
In the Spring,
Will not bear
True figs in the Fall,
The tree,
Is totally barren.
Okay,
So what are we
To think then?
That Jesus cursed
The fig tree,
Because it made
Him angry,
Because He was
So hungry?
No,
Not at all.
Instead,
It was because
It symbolized
The lives of the Pharisees,
By identifying,
Why they bore
No fruit.
No spiritual fruit.Galatians 5:22-23
