To love the sin
More than we say
We love the Savior?John 14:151 John 5:2-4
Hearts hurt
And heads ache
Thinking these defeated
Sinking thoughts.
Sometimes
We wonder if we'll ever
Find the victory
That we sought,
The "much fruit"
Jesus spoke of—
The Fruit of the Spirit
Abounding in our life
That we long for.John 15:8Galatians 5:22-23
If you have ever had
Such fleeting thoughts
Or pondered on
Your fruitless situation,
Then perhaps the reason
For your consternation
Is just a simple
Misinterpretation
Of what it means,
To be a fruit tree.
The Fruit Tree Analogy:
Please stop reading
Right now,
And find two pieces
Of your favorite
Kinds of fruit.
An apple
Or an orange
Will do,
But if it's something
Like the latter,
Please peel one
As if prepared to eat,
And then do the following.
First,
Please name each one
For a Fruit of the Spirit
That you feel like you need
Or know you often lack.Galatians 5:22-23
One could be
The fruit of faith
That's hard to find,
While the other one
Could symbolize
The fruit of happiness,
Or patience,
Or a fleeting sense
